Let start again the cult listening session ! We decided to move the event on monday, when we are normally closed, for a greater listening experience.

Soft Machine on this magnificent release combined jazz, electronic music and psychedelia blended together with the Canterbury Scene touch and a heavy doses of experimental post-production. Third pushed the boundaries of music into areas previously unexplored, and it managed to do so without sounding self-indulgent. Four side-long tunes performed by a four-piece rock band using electric instruments to play music that’s both improvised and composed using prog rock idioms, rather than the other way around, wherein jazz musicians play rock (a la Jack Johnson). The result is a manifesto, a blueprint for a hybrid style of music that transcends categorization. (cit.)
