Out of the incredibile On-U Sound catalog African Head Charge really stood for itself for their forward thinking sound, that mixed industrial influenced dub with electonic music; their seminal sampling techniques added a deeper layer of connection with the percussive and chanting musical traditions from Africa and Jamaica. The record features contributions from Jah Wobble (Public Image Limited) and Skip McDonald (Sugarhill Gang/Tackhead) and Adrian Sherwood´s production- its legacy still reverberates in the UK bass scene, heavily influencing the production of labels like Hyperdub and Tectonic.
