For this unique gala evening we are glad to welcome, Tim Lawrence.

Author, professor, party host and DJ, Tim is internationally acclaimed for his knowledge about the NYC downtown music and party scene of the 1970s and 1980s, and in particular the influence of David Mancuso and the Loft. Mancuso was the first party host to introduce audiophile stereo equipment into a dance party situation.

We invited Tim to exchange thoughts on a theme that has keep us busy for a long time:

Music, Sound, Hi-Fi & Partying

How can technical elements can influence a night? Why do we have now an international trend of audiophile listening and party space? What is the Mancuso legacy nowadays? What is more audiophile, a Funktion One sound system or a vintage Klipschhorn speakers? Is this really an interesting question, or is the crowd and the selection of music more important?

At a time when the late David Mancuso’s ethos and philosophy around hi-fidelity sound system equipment and music have never been more popular globally, we looking forward to discussing these matters with Tim.

Following the talk and discussion Tim will select records, blending jazz, disco and global dance music.
